Another tasting day at Alain Segelle's Decouverte du Vin (also known as the CIDD wine school), in the 14th arrondissement in Paris.
Alain Segelle is the founder of this wine school. This course is taking place at the CIDD location, 30 rue de la sabliere (phone + 33 1 45 45 44 20).

The CIDD is an institution for those who want to learn the essence of wine. The training gives high quality courses leading to a caviste/sommelier degree. CIDD states for "Centre d'Information, de Documentation et de Dégustation" and was founded by Alain Segelle in 1982. He is one of the most revered specialists for his expertise on wine. This march-2nd event featured 9 producers , all making organic wines (vins biologiques). A lot of people attended the course in the small venue, as quality and authenticity are what people and connoisseurs increasingly ask for.

Too much good wines to taste them all . Even with special containers to spit or empty the glasses , it was better to select .
This interesting Beaujolais 2002 was made by "maceration (soaking) semi-carbonique" and with very little sulfite . It has only 11 ° and must be transported and stored with care . Not exported . This is from producer Thierry Doat and it costs Euro 5.10 . Most surprising , I think , were the wines from Domaine Gassac , located in these innovative regions of southern France , Languedoc Roussillon . All the wines I tasted there left me good impressions . I took three bottles of " Cuvee du Manpot " 2001 , a rich wine with strong cassis (blackcurrant) flavor .
